Job Purpose
The Operations Specialist plays a vital role in launching and scaling Bolt’s ride-hailing services across secondary cities in Tanzania. This role owns end-to-end driver acquisition, onboarding optimization, city-level growth initiatives, and supply-demand marketplace balance. Combining analytical insight with hands-on field execution, the specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams (Marketplace, Driver Engagement, Rider Ops) to convert data into actionable operational growth.
Key Responsibilities

Driver Acquisition & Funnel Management: Own the end-to-end driver acquisition pipeline—from lead generation through to activation. Utilize scout programs, referral schemes, and targeted channels to hit supply benchmarks.

Onboarding & Engagement Optimization: Streamline driver onboarding via engagement centers, field clinics, and compliance checks. Monitor early retention rates and driver activation quality.

City Expansion & Marketplace Balancing: Formulate and execute structured expansion plans for new and secondary cities across Tanzania, maintaining optimal supply-demand equilibrium.

Growth Initiatives: Plan and execute targeted campaigns to boost both driver activation and local ride demand at the city level.

Analytics & Performance Tracking: Monitor, analyze, and report on key operational metrics across driver growth and city performance, translating data into prioritized action plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global and regional Marketplace, Driver Engagement, and Rider teams to identify operational bottlenecks and improve overall market performance.
Candidate Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in operations, logistics, ride-hailing, e-commerce, or technology-driven marketplace businesses. (Market experience in Tanzania or similar regional markets is an added advantage).

Analytical Capability: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and performance dashboard analytics.

Execution & Adaptability: Strong execution mindset balancing field-level operational tasks with analytical planning in a fast-paced environment.

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging smoothly with field teams, driver partners, and executive stakeholders.
