Job Purpose
The ICT Officer is responsible for delivering comprehensive end-user technical support, maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring data protection, and managing hardware/software deployment across World Vision Tanzania’s Kigoma office and surrounding field locations. This role ensures high operational uptime, robust data security, and seamless technological support to empower field teams delivering child-focused humanitarian and development programs.
Key Responsibilities

User Technical Support & Service Desk (30%): Serve as the first point of contact for Level 1 and Level 2 support requests via phone, email, and ticketing systems (ServiceNow). Set up new user accounts, configure workstations for new hires, handle equipment relocations, and conduct ICT clinics or knowledge-transfer sessions for staff.

Systems, Hardware & Applications Maintenance (25%): Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and scanners. Assist with software updates, video conferencing setup, and maintain business-critical applications to minimize downtime.

Network Infrastructure & Connectivity (25%): Monitor and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and network hardware, including Cisco routers, switches, and Cisco Meraki devices. Work directly with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and resolve outages promptly. Information Communication & Technology Officer

Data Security, Compliance & Backups (5%): Enforce organizational ICT security policies and data protection controls. Manage regular data backups, execute system recovery protocols, maintain antivirus protection, and ensure system confidentiality and integrity.

IT Asset & Inventory Management (10%): Track ICT performance metrics and document resolution procedures for recurring issues. Maintain the computer asset database, monitor inventory movements, conduct reconciliations with the Accounting Department, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT).
Job & Travel Requirements

Work Environment: Office-based in Kigoma with frequent travel to remote field offices.

Travel Mandate: Up to 40% domestic travel (including travel to remote areas under basic conditions).

On-Call Requirement: Yes, subject to emergency technical support requests.
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a dedicated networking or telecommunications environment.

Certifications (Preferred): CCNA, ITIL, or MCP certifications.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, wireless networks, WAN/LAN architecture, Windows Server/OS configuration, and productivity tools (Microsoft 365, WebEx, Skype). Information Communication & Technology Officer
