Role Summary

The HR Business Partner will support Jaza’s new market expansions across Sub-Saharan Africa. You will work closely with Employer of Record (EOR) partners, Group/Country HR teams, and local leaders to build HR infrastructure from scratch, execute onboarding/payroll verification, and ensure labor compliance while scaling company culture into new regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Partnering & Culture:

    • Support New Markets teams from launch through handover to Country HR leads.

    • Coach managers on performance management, employee development, and disciplinary matters.

    • Partner with Talent Acquisition to drive recruitment and onboarding.

    • Manage performance review cycles, probation evaluations, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • HR Operations & Setup:

    • Manage the HR launch process for new markets (contracting, payroll setups, mandatory insurance, and HRIS implementation).

    • Maintain compliant employee records and submit monthly payroll data accurately across multiple jurisdictions.

    • Oversee global employee benefits administration.

  • Compliance & Partner Management:

    • Own strategic relationships with Employer of Record (EOR) partners and external legal counsel.

    • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws across all operating countries.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Language: Bilingual fluency in French and English is strictly required.

  • Experience: 5 to 8 years of agile HR experience, including at least 3 years as an HR Business Partner supporting teams across multiple African countries.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Law, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Experience with multi-country African labor laws and EOR vendor management.

    • Experience in startup environments, cross-border HR expansion, and change management.

    • Proficiency in payroll data verification, full-lifecycle HR operations, and strategic coaching.

    • Strong cross-cultural communication and conflict resolution skills
