Relationship Manager – Commercial Banking

Job Purpose

Drive asset, liability, and profitability growth within the Commercial Banking portfolio by acquiring new commercial clients, offering tailored financial solutions, and managing credit risk to minimize NPLs.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Acquisition & Growth: Identify and onboard high-value commercial clients to expand the bank’s portfolio within the region.

• Target Achievement: Drive revenue, asset growth, and cost-effective liability acquisition (lending, trade finance, deposits, cash management).

• Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term corporate relationships through frequent site visits and structured engagement.

• Portfolio & Risk Monitoring: Track portfolio performance to ensure high asset quality, manage operational risks, and maintain regulatory compliance (KYC/AML/CTF).

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields. (Master’s, CFA, ACCA, or CPA is an added advantage).

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven relationship management experience in commercial or corporate banking.

• Core Competencies:

  • Strong credit analysis and financial statement evaluation.

  • In-depth knowledge of trade finance, working capital, and cash management.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili.

  • Ability to travel frequently to meet business goals.
