About the Role
BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Regional Accounts Manager (RAM) to provide financial oversight, technical guidance, and quality assurance for branch-level financial operations across assigned regions. Reporting directly to the Country Office Finance Manager, the RAM ensures that all financial activities align with BRAC policies, donor regulations (Mastercard Foundation), and internal control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Compliance
- Oversee branch financial operations, reviewing transactions, records, and Weekly/Monthly Bank Reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify branch maintenance of Daily Cash Registers (DCR) and audit readiness of financial documentation.
- Monitor adherence to BRAC policies (Cash management, Procurement, Asset management) and donor/tax requirements.
- Monitor synchronization between Binsight and SBI Cloud systems, resolving financial system errors and discrepancies.
Field Monitoring & Risk Management
- Conduct regular branch visits, surprise cash counts, asset register reviews, and internal control assessments.
- Track key financial risk indicators (cash variances, delayed banking, procurement irregularities) and escalate serious risks to the Country Office.
- Collaborate with regional leadership during program delivery (asset distributions, participant support) and offer guidance on resource management.
Budgeting, Reporting & Consolidation
- Analyze budget vs. actual utilization, identify variances, and support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) financial projections.
- Review, consolidate, and timely submit branch financial reports (monthly statements, bank reconciliations, procurement summaries) to the Country Office.
Capacity Building & Audit Coordination
- Coach, mentor, and train Branch Accounting and Operations Officers (BAOOs) on accounting policies, internal controls, and systems.
- Lead pre-audit reviews, organize documentation, support branches through internal/external audits, and track audit recommendation progress.
- Uphold internal control segregation, identify potential fraud indicators, and report irregularities per BRAC policies.
Safeguarding Integration
Enforce BRAC’s safeguarding principles to protect staff, participants, and communities from abuse, harassment, and exploitation across all financial operations.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce.
- Experience: 4–5 years in finance/accounting, ideally within the NGO/development sector (microfinance, livelihoods, education, or women’s empowerment).
- Supervisory Experience: Experience supervising field finance teams across multi-site locations is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in internal control design, financial systems, and digital reporting tools.
- Core Skills: Excellent analytical, supervision, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
