Job Overview

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has an exciting career opportunity for a Quality Controller to join its Manufacturing team at Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Technologist, the role focuses on executing specialist/packaging analyses, interpreting quality metrics, facilitating root-cause problem solving, conducting quality audits, and coaching plant teams to sustain a high-standard quality culture.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Quality Analysis & Trend Monitoring: Execute scheduled laboratory and packaging analyses, record testing data on the Infinity system (or Excel), and perform daily trend evaluations to identify operational anomalies.

• Interpretation & Reporting: Review daily test results, highlight out-of-spec parameters to production and lab teams, and deliver actionable findings during shift feedback meetings.

• Problem Solving & Facilitation: Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (such as Force Field Analysis) upon trigger alerts, develop corrective action plans, update work manuals/SOPs, and verify long-term problem resolution.

• Coaching & Mentorship: Conduct CAP assessments for quality, identify training gaps across lab and production personnel, and provide hands-on coaching on quality analysis and best practices.

• Quality Auditing: Execute routine monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc quality audits across operational lines, generating audit reports and presenting actionable feedback to the Quality Control Manager.

• Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation and DO (Dissolved Oxygen) equipment in according with maintenance schedules to ensure accurate analytical readouts.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Food Science and Technology, Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a Food Processing Plant; strong process and quality control knowledge within a bottling or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is highly preferred.

• Core Competencies & Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of Manufacturing Processes and Supply Chain (SC) Ways principles and practices.

  • Practical application of Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Hands-on familiarity with quality data systems, specifically Infinity and Achiever.

• Essential Personal Attributes: Result and execution-driven, resilient, customer-focused, decisive, and pragmatic in risk management.
