Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Draft Surveys to accurately determine cargo weight.
- Perform Bunker Quantity Surveys (BQS) to verify fuel delivered or remaining on board vessels.
- Carry out Hull & Machinery (H&M) Surveys to assess vessel condition, identify damage, and estimate repair requirements.
- Inspect cargo holds to ensure cleanliness, dryness, and suitability before loading. • Conduct Hatch Cover Tightness Tests using ultrasonic or hose testing methods to prevent water ingress.
- Perform cargo inspections, tallying, and warehouse verification assignments. • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) operational standards.
- Prepare detailed survey reports, calculations, photographic evidence, and technical documentation within required timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Maritime Transport and Nautical Science from a recognized institution or international equivalent.
- Previous experience in marine surveying or related maritime operations. • Good command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Knowledge of TASAC regulations and international maritime standards is an added advantage.
