HEAD OF POLICY
INDUSTRY: FOOD AND NUTRITION NGO
HR World Limited on behalf of our reputable client we are looking for a Head of Policy to provide functional oversight, thematic leadership, and technical support to project staff as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES;
- Tracking and mapping national progress on the Food Systems Summit, and the N4G Summit commitments.
- Facilitate expertise derived from its national programs and its global expertise into national consultation and planning.
- Be the principal country link to the cross sectoral – company working group on the post -Summit consultations, engagements and actions.
- Lead on internal communication to educate and inform fellow colleagues on the national food system transformation commitments and align staff members to contribute.
- Integrate and align the Food Systems Summit policy and advocacy work into the company’s national business plan.
- Monitor, attend, and engage to represent the company, where appropriate, in key national-level and country-level policy fora and meetings related to food system transformation.
- Lead on external engagement with key stakeholders in government, private sector, UN, donors, and civil society including academia, media, and other development practitioners; to improve support for the company’s mission and increase resources allocated to nutrition in Tanzania.
- Provide technical and managerial guidance to program and field teams that guarantees adherence to national and local government guidance and protocols.
- As a member of the company’s Tanzania Senior Management Team, contribute to overall country team management to support the delivery of the country office business plan
- Represent the company at government and donor meetings, technical groups and seminars/conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS;
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Public Health, Public Policy or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Must have at least 10 years or more years of experience in the related field.
- Willingness and ability to travel, within and outside of Tanzania.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Pragmatic, dynamic and autonomous person.
