Role Summary
The Customer Service Officer will deliver high-quality customer service, oversee banking activities, manage petty cash and disbursements, handle manual data entry, drive savings mobilization, and support general business center administration in Arusha.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Client Support (15%)
- Attend to customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve service issues efficiently.
- Direct clients to appropriate officers or service channels and monitor ATM usage.
- Provide accurate product information and distribute marketing materials (e.g., fliers).
- Compile customer feedback and submit reports to the Call Centre Manager.
Savings Mobilization & Marketing (15%)
- Mobilize, promote, and sell savings products to prospective and existing clients.
- Open savings accounts and ensure all Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation is completed and approved by the Business Center Manager (BCM).
Banking Operations & Reconciliation (20%)
- Register bank pay-in slips, issue official receipts, and initiate cheque payments for central processing.
- Perform bank reconciliations and acknowledge bank correspondence.
- Send disbursement sheets to the Central Processing Center and physically confirm clients during disbursement.
Payments & Petty Cash Management (20%)
- Manage petty cash disbursements and reimbursements in strict adherence to policy.
- Process authorized cash and cheque payments for service providers, contractors, and labor wages.
- Handle purchases for general office supplies (water, tea, utensils, etc.).
Data Entry & Operations (10%)
- Execute accurate manual data entry whenever tablet systems fail, ensuring full approval documentation is attached.
- Supervise and confirm client mobile changes and ATM registrations at the Business Center.
Office Administration & Custody (10%)
- Safely store loan collaterals, client files, financial documents, and valuable assets.
- Manage incoming/outgoing parcels, photocopying, printing, and business center stationery inventory.
Reporting & Compliance (10%)
- Promptly report lost ATM cards, mobile lines, or missing clients to the Business Center Manager and Disbursement Officer.
- Report delivery schedules and asset losses to leadership.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in customer service, banking operations, or administration. Customer Service Officer
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong data entry, analytical, and financial reporting skills.
Core Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, problem-solving, and marketing abilities.
Spiritual & Faith Alignment: Ability to model effective Christian leadership, reflect organizational values, and lead daily devotions.
