Position Summary
The CCR Operator is responsible for controlling and monitoring the continuous operation of kilns, raw mills, and cement mills from the Central Control Room (CCR). Operating within a high-volume cement plant environment, this role ensures optimal production output, strictly adheres to quality parameters, maintains thorough operational logs, and upholds Heidelberg Materials Group health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Process Control & Monitoring:
-
Monitor and operate kilns and milling circuits from the central control system, making real-time adjustments to maintain agreed production parameters.

Execute daily operational instructions, continuously analyzing process trends to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Work closely with the Quality Control Laboratory to receive feedback and adjust production processes to maintain target quality standards.

Reporting & Operational Support:

Maintain precise production log sheets and generate accurate daily operational reports.

Promptly report process abnormalities, equipment failures, or performance deviations to the Shift Supervisor.

Participate directly in production activities, including planned refractory maintenance, process cleaning, special testing, and emergency response/firefighting protocols.

Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance:

Ensure strict compliance with OSHA regulations, Tanga Cement PLC safety procedures, and statutory requirements.

Enforce relevant environmental policies and emission control standards.

Adhere to Heidelberg Materials Group Code of Business Conduct, compliance guidelines, and plant protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Professional Status:
-
Bachelor of Science ($B.Sc.$) in Chemical and Processing Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.

Professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) in Tanzania (or equivalent professional body).

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of hands-on operations experience in a cement manufacturing plant or heavy industrial process environment.

Skills & Competencies:

Fundamental understanding of mechanical and process maintenance requirements.

Logical thinking, high attention to detail, and sound problem-solving skills under shift-work conditions.

Solid command of written and spoken English.

Practical knowledge of industrial safety standards and ability to organize section workflows efficiently.
