Role Overview

AzamPesa is seeking an agile and experienced Head of Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team. In this role, you will shape and drive the company’s people strategy, talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational culture in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic HR Leadership: Formulate and execute a comprehensive people strategy, systems, and policies aligned with organizational growth objectives.

• Employee Lifecycle & Operations: Coordinate all core HR functions to ensure efficiency across recruitment, onboarding, retention, and offboarding.

• Culture & Engagement: Drive culture transformation initiatives and employee engagement programs that foster a high-performance, agile workplace.

• Talent Acquisition & Branding: Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, succession planning, and employer branding strategy.

• Compliance & Legal Standards: Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements.

• Compensation & Benefits: Design and manage competitive remuneration, benefits, and reward frameworks to attract and retain top talent.

• Learning & Performance: Champion company-wide learning and development programs while evaluating and optimizing performance management systems.

Qualifications & Entry Requirements

Academic & Professional Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Advanced Degree: Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or MSc in Human Resources / Organizational Development) is an added advantage.

• Professional Membership: Active membership or certification with a recognized Human Resources Management Association is an added advantage.

Work Experience Requirements

• Total Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience.

• Leadership Experience: At least 3 to 5 years in a senior HR management or leadership role.

• Industry Experience: Proven track record in fast-paced sectors such as fintech, telecommunications, financial services, or banking in Tanzania.

Core Competencies & Knowledge

• Deep knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws, statutory mandates, and regulatory compliance.

• Strategic Vision: Ability to align people strategy with commercial business goals.

• Culture & Change Management: Proven capacity to champion organizational change and agility.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to utilize HR metrics and insights to optimize performance and workforce planning.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills.
