NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL (BASATA) The National Arts Council was established under Law No. 23 of 1984 and its amendments No. 5 of the year 2019. The National Arts Council is a Government Institution which after improvements has opened up various opportunities for all the Arts in the country. The National Arts Council is an efficient manager and facilitator of the quality of income and the quantity of Art production in the country. The mission of the Arts Council is to Facilitate the production, use and participation of the Community in the best Art activities. The responsibilities of the National Arts Council are to inspire, promote Tanzanian culture with high value as well as bear the responsibility of reviving and promoting Arts in the country, Advising the Government on matters related to the development of Arts in the country, providing advice and technical assistance to artists and Art stakeholders and conduct various studies on issues related to Art..
