JOB SUMMARY
Hakadosh Company Limited on behalf of their client is seeking for reliable and technical competent Pump Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain borewell pump stations, ensuring a consistent and reliable water supply for irrigation and other estate operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring pump performance, recording operational data, conducting routine inspections, and reporting faults to ensure efficient and uninterrupted water delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate borewell pumps according to approved operating schedules and water supply requirements.
- Start, stop, and monitor diesel-powered or electrically driven pumps in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Monitor and record water pressure, flow rates, water levels, operating hours, and energy or fuel consumption.
- Conduct routine inspections of pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, control panels, and associated equipment.
- Monitor bore well water levels and report abnormal changes, reduced water output, or potential pumping problems.
- Check for unusual noise, vibration, overheating, leakage, and other signs of equipment malfunction.
- Monitor electrical supply and control panel indicators and report electrical faults to qualified personnel.
- Maintain accurate daily operational logs, shift reports, and water pumping records.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic operator-level maintenance of pump station equipment and surrounding facilities.
- Report equipment breakdowns promptly and coordinate with pump mechanics and irrigation engineers to facilitate repairs.
- Ensure proper operation of valves and adherence to approved pumping procedures to prevent equipment damage.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security within the borewell pump station.
- Follow occupational health and safety procedures, including electrical safety and safe handling of fuel and lubricants where applicable.
- Support water distribution monitoring and coordinate with irrigation teams to meet estate water requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or equivalent qualification.
- Technical or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Pump Operations, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience operating borewell pumps, industrial water pumps, irrigation pumps, or similar equipment.
- Basic knowledge of pump operation, water pressure, flow rates, valves, and pump station procedures.
- Ability to monitor equipment performance and identify abnormal operating conditions.
- Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Understanding of workplace safety procedures and equipment handling.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Willingness to work in a field-based agricultural environment.
