Position: Gardener 

Advent Construction 

Location: Dae es Salaam

Reports To: Administration Manager

Job Purpose

To ensure the aesthetic appeal, cleanliness, and health of landscaped areas across both residential and office premises. The gardener enhances the environment to reflect the dignity of the home and professionalism of the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Residential Grounds

• Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and ornamental plants with care and precision
• Ensure walkways, patio areas, and outdoor furnishings are clean and presentable
• Create seasonal displays and assist with décor for family events or holidays
  Office Grounds
• Trim and maintain corporate green spaces to reflect a professional image
• Ensure entrances, paths, and outdoor meeting areas are debris-free and welcoming
• Support minor landscaping projects to improve curb appeal

Equipment & Safety

• Operate and maintain gardening tools such as hedge trimmers, pruners, sprinklers, and lawnmowers
• Apply fertilizers and pest control safely, ensuring non-disruption of office or residential activities
• Adhere to safety protocols, especially when working near sensitive office infrastructure

Planning & Coordination

• Propose seasonal planting schedules and landscape upgrades
• Assist in budgeting for garden maintenance supplies
• Report any issues like irrigation leaks, plant disease, or pest infestations

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in residential and/or commercial gardening
• Understanding of local flora and climate-adapted landscaping
• Ability to manage time and tasks independently across dual premises
• Basic knowledge of horticulture, landscaping design, and organic treatments
• Discretion and reliability—especially within residential environments
