TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY SERVICES.
BACKGROUND
SAfA Tanzania is a youth-focused project with the aim of empowering over 50,000 Tanzanian youth aged 15-30 in the regions of Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya and Songwe, by enhancing their livelihood prospects. The project collaborates with three implementing partners: Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW) Tanzania, Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS) Tanzania and Kuhne Foundation (KF) Tanzania. These three implementers collaborate to leverage their expertise and strategies to foster skills development for remunerative employment, enhance agricultural efficiencies to uplift the livelihoods of smallholder farmers , optimize health supply chains, improve Reproductive Health Education (RHE) including strengthened gender responsiveness and utilization of youth friendly health services, knowledge and access to sexual reproductive health services and strengthen youth acceptance and recognition as productive members in communities. The project emphasizes the importance of sustainable development and community engagement in creating lasting social impact and economic growth for Tanzanian youth.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this TOR is to engage a professional photo & videographer to document project activities, events, and success stories in the project implementation areas.
SCOPE OF WORK
- On need basis, Accompany the SAfA Tanzania Communication Manager to various project implementation areas to capture photographs and videos of project activities, beneficiaries, and stakeholders.
- Capture high-quality images and videos that highlight the impact of the project interventions of each of our Implementing Partners.
- Ensure that the photographs and videos adhere to the SAfA Tanzania project branding guidelines and ethical standards.
- Provide edited and finalized photographs and videos in both high-resolution and web-friendly formats within the agreed-upon timeline.
- Collaborate with the SAfA Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) and Communication Manager to identify key events, milestones, and success stories to be documented.
- Travel to remote project areas as needed.
DELIVERABLES
- A minimum of 50 high-resolution, edited photographs per project visit, depicting various project activities and beneficiaries.
- A minimum of 10 minutes of high-resolution video footage per project visit, capturing key project interventions, interviews, and testimonials.
- Delivery of all photographs and videos in both high-resolution and web-friendly formats within 10 business days after an event.
TIMELINE
The photography and videography services will be required on an ongoing and need basis, throughout the duration of the SAfA Tanzania project. The exact schedule and frequency of visits to project implementation areas will be determined in consultation with the Communication Manager.
REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION
The photographer/videographer will report directly to the Communication Manager and collaborate closely with the Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) to ensure alignment with project objectives and priorities. Regular communication and updates on progress and deliverables will be expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in professional photography and videography, with link to a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in capturing documentary-style images and videos.
- Familiarity with community development projects, particularly in the fields of youth empowerment, agriculture, health, and education, is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in multicultural settings.
- Ability to deliver quality products on time.
- Must be willing to travel to remote areas.
- Proficiency in editing software and tools for both photography and videography.
