Background

 

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States to serve World War II survivors in Europe. Today, it is the official international humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic community. It provides support to impoverished and disadvantaged people in over 100 countries based solely on need, regardless of their race, religion, or ethnicity

In Tanzania, CRS operates through its Catholic Relief Services (Tanzania program), which is registered as a not-for-profit organization since the 8th of February 1968 and it has its main office in Dar es Salaam and sub-offices in Kigoma and Mbeya regions. Today, the program in Tanzania supports agriculture, health system, and institutional strengthening, vulnerable children and youth programming, and integrated water resource management projects that interweave socioeconomic empowerment and gender transformation.

Objectives and reasons for undertaking this project.

CRS is dedicated to minimizing its carbon impact and advancing environmental sustainability. To this end, we aim to achieve a 100% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across our operations and reduce energy consumption. Our efforts are guided by our shared values of Care for Creation and Stewardship.” CRS seek to collaborate with reputable supplier to supply and install the Solar photovoltaic(PV)systems, adhering to the Bill of Quantities (BOO) and the design specifications provided by the consultant.

Site Location

The CRS Head Quarters Office – Tanzania is located along Kahama Street – Msasani Peninsula, off Haile Selassie Road, Masaki – Dar es Salaam. The Geolocation Latitude of the site is -6.75369°S and Longitude 39.28123°E.

Tender Documents:

The comprehensive tender documents are accessible from March 14 to March 22, 2024, during regular office hours. Specifically: Monday to Thursday from 08 am to 5 pm and Friday from 08 am to 2 pm. Interested bidders are invited to collect a hard copy of the tender document at the CRS office or can request a soft copy. Requests for tender documents should be submitted on a company letterhead signed by the Director/Manager of the company in hardcopy or via e-mail to Elizabeth Sendama, at elizabeth.sendama@crs.org. Please use Subject line: “Request for Tender Documents: “002- FY24 – Requisition No. TZ 1382 – Supply and Installation of Solar PV at Catholic Relief Service in Dar es Salaam Office” in the subject line. The Request for tender document will not be accepted after March 22, 2024.

The deadline for submission of the completed and sealed Tender documents is on or before 05 April 2024 at 4 pm.
