Basic Purpose

To manage end-to-end card operations, ensuring efficient card issuance, complete lifecycle management, system reliability, and high-quality customer service while maintaining full compliance with card scheme rules and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Card Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of cards—including issuance, activation, renewal, replacement, blocking, and closure processes—ensuring execution is timely and accurate within defined SLAs.
System & Service Monitoring: Monitor card system performance and availability in collaboration with IT to ensure minimal downtime, prompt resolution of system issues, and high service reliability.
Customer Support & Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve card-related issues such as failed or declined transactions and customer complaints; drive a reduction in overall card complaints year-over-year.
Compliance & Fraud Control: Maintain strict compliance with Visa/Mastercard scheme regulations, internal policies, and regulatory standards. Work closely with Risk and Fraud teams to detect anomalies, strengthen controls, and reduce card-related risks.
Digital Innovation & Process Improvement: Drive the implementation of digital card solutions (such as instant issuance and virtual cards) to boost customer convenience while identifying process gaps to optimize operational efficiency.
Reporting & Audits: Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and audit trails for all card activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related field.

Work Experience

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in card operations or digital banking functions.

Knowledge & Skills

Card Systems & Schemes: Strong working knowledge of card operations, lifecycle management, scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard), and transaction flows.
Analytical Capabilities: Excellent problem-solving, data monitoring, and analytical capabilities to identify trends and technical anomalies.
Operational Drive: High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain strong controls while delivering digital innovations.
