Position: Senior Human Resources Officer

Shanta Mining is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Senior Human Resources Officer at the New Luika Gold Mine in Songwe, Tanzania. This is a permanent role within a dynamic mining environment, offering a structured roster and strong career development potential.
Location: New Luika Gold Mine, Songwe – Tanzania
Reporting to: Human resources manager
Employment type: Permanent
Roster: 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off
Key responsibilities
- HR service delivery and coordination
- Workforce planning, recruitment, and selection
- Development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Performance management processes
- Training and development initiatives
- Day-to-day HR advisory support to management and employees
- Employee and labour relations support
- Management of disciplinary and grievance processes
- Support employee engagement initiatives
- Interpretation and application of employment policies and labour regulations
- HR systems and records management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems
- Ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements
- HR reporting, compliance, and audits
- Prepare HR operational and compliance reports
- Respond to internal and external audit queries
- Ensure adherence to Tanzanian labour laws and company policies
- Remuneration and benefits support
- Assist in compiling salary and benefits data
- Prepare salary review documentation in line with approved mandates
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ HR management experience
- Proven experience within the mining or extractive industry
