About TANROADS

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland, as well as managing axle load control operations. The Regional Manager’s Office, TANROADS Dodoma, on behalf of the Chief Executive, is recruiting qualified Tanzanian citizens for the road upgrading project: Upgrading of Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0Km), LOT I: Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0Km) Contract No. TRD/HQ/1033/2023/24.

Entry Qualifications & Requirements

• Citizenship: Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

• Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.

• Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience in a related field.

• Project Experience: Must have served as a Highway Engineer on at least three (3) road construction projects of a similar nature.

• Location Availability: Must be ready to work for extended periods in the Dodoma Region where the project is based.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Construction Supervision: Oversee construction operations in accordance with contract provisions, focusing on road surveys and pavement structure construction.

• Quality & Cost Assurance: Manage site operations and quantify work to guarantee adherence to specifications at optimal economic costs.

• Design & Review: Conduct design reviews and assist in approving contractor shop drawings.

• Project Management & Reporting: Assist the Resident Project Manager with weekly and monthly progress reporting, while updating and maintaining the project master schedule.

• Claims Management & Mentorship: Help evaluate contractor claims, coordinate the supervision team to mitigate potential claims, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
