Total Exploration and Development Uganda Limited (TEPU), CNOOC Uganda Limited (CUL) and the Government of Uganda have discovered crude oil in the Lake Albert area and want to develop and build an oil pipeline to connect production from the Kingfisher area to Buliisa-Nwoya area of crude oil is exported to the international market.
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is part of the Lake Albert Development Project, a 1,443-kilometer transnational long-distance pipeline development project that can transport crude oil from Uganda to Tanga Port on the east coast of Tanzania .
The EACOP system is divided into three components, above ground installations (AGIs), pipelines and offshore storage terminals (MST).The above ground installation (AGI) consists of 6 pumping stations (PS-1 to PS-6) and 2 pressure reducing stations (PRS-1 and PRS-2) along the pipeline route.
The pipeline consists of 1,443 kilometers of 24-inch continuous heated export pipelines, connecting the Kabaale hub pumping station (PS-1) in the Hoima region of Uganda and the Tanga region storage reservoir in Tanzania . The pipeline includes all intermediate valve chambers , electric heat tracing (EHT) systems, high voltage distribution (HV) and fiber optic (FO) cables and related equipment, as well as the EHT substation.
Position: Senior Contracts Specialist
Job Description:
- Manage and oversee contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to provide contractual support and guidance, emphasizing risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct thorough contract reviews and negotiations to optimize terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Implement best practices in contract administration and contribute to the development of contract templates and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor contract performance, identify deviations, and notice necessary risk.
- Interpret and manage the Articles of the Master Contract with Client/Company, provide related consultant.
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Law, Commercial or Engineering, ideally with a post-graduate qualification in a complementary area
- Professional experience: Min 10 years of practical experience in contracts role (preferably in Oil/Gas lndustry)
- Broad Contracts and Project experience (both commercial and contractual)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the C&P process. Experience is O&G industry and specifically Total C&P would be appreciated
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Mandarin Chinese is advantageous. Proficiency in at least Microsoft Office operating system (including but not limited to MS Office, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to visualize issues and communicate them to others.
- Familiar with project risk management processes and methodologies; candidates with experience in project risk management will be given preference.
- Eligible to work in Tanzania.
