Job Purpose
The Sales & Marketing Officer is responsible for generating new business, increasing sales revenue, maintaining strong customer relationships, promoting the company’s products and services, and supporting the company’s overall marketing activities.
The position requires an individual who is highly target-oriented, proactive, persuasive, and capable of identifying business opportunities and converting prospects into paying customers.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Responsibilities
- Identify and generate new sales leads through field visits, telephone calls, referrals, social media, networking, and other channels.
- Present and demonstrate company products and services to prospective customers.
- Visit businesses and potential customers to identify their needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and sales presentations.
- Follow up on leads, quotations, demonstrations, and prospective customers until sales are completed.
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Negotiate with customers within approved company pricing and commercial policies.
- Convert prospects into customers and ensure proper handover to the relevant department.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.
- Maintain regular communication with existing customers to identify additional business opportunities.
- Monitor competitors, market prices, products, and customer preferences.
Marketing Responsibilities
- Promote company products and services through appropriate marketing channels.
- Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
- Generate marketing leads through social media, digital marketing, field marketing, events, referrals, and partnerships.
- Create and distribute promotional materials in accordance with company guidelines.
- Participate in exhibitions, trade fairs, business events, product demonstrations, and promotional activities.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities.
- Collect market intelligence and provide feedback to management.
- Support the company’s online marketing activities, including social media and other digital platforms.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and sales-related requests.
- Follow up with customers after purchase or service delivery where required.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information.
- Handle initial customer complaints professionally and escalate technical or operational issues to the appropriate department.
Sales Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, quotations, sales, and customer follow-ups.
- Submit daily/weekly sales activity reports as required.
- Submit monthly sales performance reports.
- Maintain an updated sales pipeline.
- Record customer visits, calls, demonstrations, and follow-up activities.
- Provide management with accurate information regarding sales opportunities and market conditions.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Performance Expectations
The Sales & Marketing Officer will be expected to:
- Achieve assigned monthly sales targets.
- Maintain sufficient qualified leads in the sales pipeline.
- Generate new customers consistently.
- Convert qualified leads into paying customers.
- Maintain good customer relationships.
- Conduct regular customer visits and follow-ups.
- Control sales-related expenses and use company resources efficiently.
- Submit accurate and timely reports.
4.Reporting
The Sales & Marketing Officer shall report regularly to the Sales Manager or other designated manager and shall provide:
- Daily activity updates where required.
- Weekly sales pipeline and activity reports.
- Monthly sales performance reports.
- Customer and market feedback.
- Other reports requested by management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, or a related position.
- Experience in selling technology, software, hardware, business solutions, or other commercial products will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of sales and marketing principles.
- Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office and relevant business applications.
