Job brief

FELIXSTOWE ACADEMY is looking for a School Administrator to manage all administrative tasks in our school.

As a School Administrator, you’ll need to wear many different hats; the planner, the problem-solver, the educator and the counselor being a few of them. You should have the skills to communicate with various people, handle budgets and logistics, and keep all educational programs running.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Curriculum standards are met and classroom schedules are followed.
  • Handle scheduling, record-keeping and reporting
  • Ensure the school complies with relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and run educational programs
  • Hire, train and advise staff alongside the directors
  • Resolve conflicts and other issues
  • Serve as a liaison between teachers, students, parents, and the community
  • Have a hand in the creation of the school curriculum
  • Preparing school calendar
  • Marketing the school 
  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including finances, facilities, and educational materials
  • Manage budgets, logistics and events or meetings
  • Maintain relationships with staff and parents
  • Monitor students and teachers for progress
  • Coordinating school security
  • Implement actions that improve the school and the quality of education (e.g. building renovations, new guidelines for students, new subjects)
  • Help shape and uphold the vision of the school
  • Handling day to day issues
  • Perform any other duties as designated by the Directors

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a School Administrator
  • Experience as an educator is a plus
  • Knowledge of administrative processes of schools
  • Ability to use computers (e.g. MS Office) and education management systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Children lover
  • Outstanding organizational ability
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Good judgment and decision-making aptitude

Required Qualifications:

  1. bachelor degree in education or similar field.
  2. 3 years experience in the education Industry.
  3. Teaching experience or previous administrative experience in another school
  4. Licenses and certifications is a must.
