Position Summary
The Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Research Officer to join the MAMS STEP2C project. He/she will provide high-quality medical care to patients, diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, and promote health education. This role requires a professional with excellent clinical skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Screening of the patients: Identify eligible patients for the study
Enrolment of the patients: register eligible patients into the study
Management of the patients: Oversee and coordinate the care and progress of patients throughout the study
Identification and Management of adverse and severe adverse events: Detect and address any negative reactions or side effects patients may experience
Follow up of the patients: Ensure continued monitoring and care of patients
Initial development of SOPs: Create detailed, standardized procedures to ensure consistency and quality in all study-related activities.
Management of site investigator files (ISF): Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all site-related documentation.
Communication with Regulatory authority and Ethics: Ensure all activities comply with regulatory and ethical standards.
Qualification and Experience
Degree in medicine (MD)
Experience in clinical research
Must have experience in working as a clinical Research Coordinator, this is Mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
Patient Management skills
Computer skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
