The Board of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League (TPL) has officially announced the start of the new Tanzania Mainland Premier League 2024-25 season, which will begin on August 16, 2024. This season is expected to be very competitive due to the improvements made in the squads of various teams which have all clearly shown the intention of giving Yanga Sc a challenge to defend their championship.

Before the start of the major league, soccer fans will witness the Community Shield game, which will be played between August 8 and 11, 2024. This traditional match will be an initial test of the team’s ability before the start of the official season.

2024/2025 season

The 2024/2025 season of the premier league will have 30 rounds, where each team will play against the other twice, at home and away. The season is expected to end on May 24, 2025, and there will be a small registration window that will open from December 15, 2024 to January 15, 2025, where teams will have the opportunity to strengthen their squads.

2023-24 Winner

Yanga SC, the defending champions of last season 2023-24, will have the task of defending their title against other strong teams. This season, the premier league will welcome new guests, Kengold FC from Tukuyu, Mbeya, and Pamba Jiji FC from Mwanza, who have been promoted from the First Division League.

At the same time, the First Division League (Championship) matches will start on 14 September 2024 and end on 10 May 2025.

The final of the FA Cup, which is one of the biggest competitions in the country, is scheduled to take place on 31 May 2025.
