Programme & Community Development Officer (Volunteer) at GTI (July 2026)
The role
This is a full-time volunteer opportunity for a proactive and self-driven individual who is ready to take ownership of programme activities while helping build a growing local NGO. The successful candidate will coordinate community activities, support programme implementation, strengthen partnerships and contribute to GTI’s organizational growth.
Nature of the Opportunity
This is a full-time volunteer position and does not constitute employment with GTI. The successful candidate will receive a monthly facilitation stipend of TZS 200,000 to support transport and daily expenses. This opportunity is designed for individuals who are passionate about community development and wish to gain meaningful practical experience while contributing to GTI’s mission and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate programme and community activities.
- Support implementation of the School Nutrition Initiative.
- Build relationships with schools, communities and local government.
- Prepare reports, proposals and programme documentation.
- Support fundraising, communications and social media.
APPLICATION FOR AN INTERN
- Assist with administrative and operational activities including financial compliance if filling of returns etc.
- Represent GTI during meetings and field activities.
Qualification
- Applicants should hold a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and demonstrate initiative, integrity and professionalism.
- They should communicate effectively, work independently with minimal supervision, and be willing to travel within the Iringa Region.
- Recent graduates and applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
