Job Overview
As a Procurement Officer at Dark Earth Carbon, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing
the goods and services required to support our operations. You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate
contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services while managing inventory levels to
optimize cost savings and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and purchasing goods and services required by the organization.
- Evaluating suppliers and negotiating contracts and prices.
- Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services in accordance with project timelines and
company requirements. - Maintaining accurate records of purchases and contracts.
- Track inventory levels, identify stock shortages, and recommend cost-effective purchasing
solutions. - Collaborating with various internal departments to understand their procurement needs and
align purchasing strategies with company goals. - Staying informed about market trends, pricing changes, and potential new suppliers
- Working on additional tasks handed over to you by your manager.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field for advertised job
- At least 1–2 years of experience in procurement or a related role. Experience in biochar or the
agricultural industry is a plus but not required. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to lead training
sessions. - Analytical abilities, with attention to detail especially when evaluating systems and processes
- Strong attention to detail when evaluating suppliers, contracts, and inventory data to make
informed decisions. - Self-driven with the capacity to make well-informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Swahili and English is essential
