Position: Procurement Officer 

Reports to: Procurement Manager 

Position Type:Staff Position

Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role: Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. Responsibilities include identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, maintaining accurate ERP records, and managing supplier relationships to support our company’s goals.

Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase goods, equipment, and services required for  operations.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and pricing.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations and quality standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations.
• Analyze market trends and recommend strategies to optimize procurement processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate inventory management activities.
• Prepare and maintain procurement reports, records, and documentation.
• Adhere to GSPP and farm protocals 

Qualification and Skills:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain or associated field from an accredited College/University.
• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the horticulture industry.
• A strong commitment to meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy in supply details, combined with excellent organizational skills and a hands-on approach to production quality and cost control.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience with maintenance items is a valuable asset.
• Demonstrable, accurate and impressive skills in supply ERP software and processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and writing skills in both English and Swahili.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
