Minimum qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in digital payments
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in international money transfers or financial services management
Core responsibilities
- Develop and manage digital payment products, including NFC, QR payments, and e-commerce payment gateways
- Lead operations and partnerships for cross-border remittances (IMT), ensuring regulatory compliance and internal coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison for IMT partners and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements
- Manage digital investment portfolios and collaborate on the development of innovative financial solutions
- Negotiate and manage contracts, commercial agreements, and SLAs to support product development and profitability
- Conduct market research and implement strategic initiatives to expand product reach and competitiveness
- Lead BTL and ATL marketing campaigns to drive cross-selling and upselling of financial service products
- Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to proactively manage risks in digital and financial services
- Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team aligned with departmental and organizational goals
- Participate in cross-functional projects to drive innovation and enhance efficiency within the Financial Services Unit and Mixx by Yas
- Assist in staff training and upskilling on digital and financial products
- Represent the company at industry forums, regulatory meetings, and fintech discussions
- Stay current with global fintech trends and propose forward-looking digital and financial innovations
Core competencies
- Proven experience in managing product portfolios and driving revenue growth in a fast-paced financial technology environment
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian and regional financial services markets, including digital payments and compliance
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- Mature with a strong sense of ownership to your role; highly self-motivated with strong leadership skills
