Job Summary
The Information Technology Officer provides frontline technical support and operational IT services for FHI 360 staff and project offices in Tanzania. Serving as the primary point of contact for end-user support, this role manages workstation deployment, software installation, user account provisioning, asset inventory, and troubleshooting of laptops, mobile devices, printers, network connectivity, and productivity applications. Reporting to the IT Manager DTT, the position supports corporate IT infrastructure, implements security standards, and assists onboarding/offboarding processes for a growing workforce.
Key Responsibilities

Technical & End-User Support: Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, videoconferencing tools, and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).

Device & System Management: Configure, deploy, and maintain hardware and software. Identify root causes and resolve routine hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Account Provisioning: Manage the provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts, email access, MFA enrollment, password resets, and application permissions.

Asset & Inventory Control: Maintain precise records of IT assets and software licenses in organizational asset management systems, supporting asset tracking, replacement, and disposal.

Network & Infrastructure Support: Support office networking equipment, meeting room technology, and technical setup for new office locations, field activities, workshops, and remote sites.

IT Security & Compliance: Support endpoint security procedures, device compliance requirements, antivirus monitoring, and system patching; document and report security incidents or policy violations.

Incident Management & Training: Track support tickets to ensure timely incident resolution, document incident logs, and provide end-user technology training.
Qualifications & Experience

Education: Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on IT support experience.

Certifications (Preferred/Advantageous): Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation, or Google IT Support Professional Certificate.

Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN), helpdesk ticketing, and asset management systems. Excellent customer service, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Work Conditions & Travel

Travel: Less than 10% domestic travel.

Physical Demands: Typical office environment. Stationary position for ~50% of the time, operating computers and standard office equipment.
