Job Purpose
The HR Manager leads Human Resources operations, payroll administration, employee relations, and talent strategy for Egis Tanzania in Zanzibar. Managing a dedicated team of three HR professionals, this role translates business goals into workforce plans, ensures full compliance with local labor laws, and fosters a high-performing organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership & Talent Management:

Translate business objectives into actionable workforce strategies and manage end-to-end recruitment for key positions.

Lead comprehensive onboarding programs to integrate new hires into company culture.

Manage annual KPI settings, performance appraisal cycles, skill assessments, and staff training plans.

Payroll Administration & Benefits:

Oversee monthly end-to-end payroll processing, variable calculations, overtime, and leave adjustments.

Manage statutory remittances (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF) and staff benefits (medical insurance, pensions, bonuses) alongside the Finance department.

Employee Relations & Legal Compliance:

Act as the subject matter expert on local labor laws to safeguard business operations.

Direct grievance resolution, conflict management, and disciplinary proceedings to mitigate legal risk.

Maintain HR policies aligned with Egis Group HQ guidelines and champion employee engagement initiatives.

Team Management:

Supervise, coach, and develop a team of three HR officers.

Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or senior HR leadership roles.

Language Skills: Fluent in spoken and written English.

Specialized Knowledge: Deep familiarity with local labor legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
