FTTH Technician – Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology,Telecom or a related field. 
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in the IT or Telecommunications industry. 
• Good English communication skills. 
• Strong listening, analytical, and information-processing skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. 
• Ability to work under pressure and work overtime when required. 
• Careful, meticulous, enthusiastic, honest, and responsible. 
• Passionate about continuous learning and self-improvement. 

FTTH Technician – Responsibilities

• Install and maintain Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks. 
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance. 
• Perform fiber splicing and rectify fiber optic network issues. 
• Splice and terminate fiber optic cables. 
• Carry out basic to advanced fiber installation, troubleshooting, and repairs with minimal supervision. 
• Access fiber optic splice enclosures and perform splicing from bucket trucks when required. 
• Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, laser sources, and scopes. 
• Prepare, tray, and splice fiber optic cables ranging from single fibers to high-count cables, including ring cuts when necessary. 
• Install demarcation enclosures, switches, and other telecommunications equipment. 
• Perform fiber optic testing and troubleshooting. 
• Carry out fiber termination on ODN networks. 
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
