  • Closing Date: October 26, 2026

Key Responsibilities

1. Architectural & Engineering Design

  • Design Briefs & BoQ Inputs: Formulate technical specifications, schedules of finishes, accessibility details, design briefs, and architectural inputs for Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and tender packages.

  • Clash Detection & Integration: Coordinate architectural plans with structural, civil, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), fire protection, ICT, and security systems to resolve clashes prior to construction.

2. Field Supervision, Coaching & Contractor Oversight

  • On-Site Leadership: Conduct daily site walkthroughs across terminal facilities; direct, train, and coach site inspectors, junior engineers, and sub-contractors on drawing interpretation and construction quality.

  • Contract Administration: Review contractors’ shop drawings, material samples, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).

  • Quality Control: Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), snag lists, site instructions, and verify work quantities alongside procurement for interim payment certifications.

3. Compliance, HSE & Project Handover

  • Regulatory Clearances: Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian building codes, municipal planning regulations, fire safety codes, ISPS Port Security standards, and handle statutory permit filings.

  • HSE Enforcement: Enforce strict adherence to Permit-to-Work (PTW) protocols, PPE rules, and phased traffic/construction management around live vessel and cargo operations.

  • Project Closeout: Manage final snagging, system testing, occupancy readiness, and compile complete handover packages (as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals).

Requirements & Qualifications

1. Education & Professional Registration

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized university.

  • Professional Licensing: Active registration as a Professional Architect/Engineer in Tanzania with a valid practicing license (e.g., AQRB/ERB registration).

2. Work Experience & Domain Expertise

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in architectural/engineering design, drawing generation, and hands-on site supervision.

  • Sector Focus: Proven field experience in maritime terminals, commercial ports, heavy industrial facilities, logistics parks, or large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

  • Live Site Leadership: Demonstrated experience supervising multi-disciplinary contractors and managing construction safety within active, live operational environments.

3. Technical Software & Competencies

  • Software: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit / BIM and visualization software (SketchUp).

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of heavy-duty construction materials, corrosion mitigation strategies, FIDIC/local contract administration, and statutory municipal approvals.
