POSITION: EXPANSION TECHNICIAN (TEMPORARY POSITION)

INDUSTRY: RENEWABLE ENERGY

HR World Ltd on behalf of our client, we are looking for an Expansion Technician to oversee technical operations in the expansion of new sites. The Expansion Technician will be responsible for commissioning and installation of solar equipment, ensuring that new hubs/shops meet set standards, and providing technical support throughout the expansion process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Commission and install solar technical equipment in new sites, ensuring compliance with all processes and documentation
• Monitor and report on technical equipment needs in line with expansion targets
• Ensure availability of Go-live working packs by troubleshooting and repairing defective packs
• Set up new sites in company dashboards and systems before handover to regional teams
• Train and onboard Regional Technicians, providing feedback for improvement
• Assess potential sites and identify suitable shops/plots for leasing
• Accurately file, update, and escalate technical issues using GitLab
• Troubleshoot hub performance issues remotely and on-site during expansion
• Maintain 100% connectivity at new sites and review technical reports before and after commissioning
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair defective products, ensuring accurate inventory records
• Participate in expansion planning, daily stand-ups, and technical update meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in solar installation, technical commissioning, or related work
• Strong troubleshooting, testing, and repair skills
• Proficiency in technical reporting and digital tools (e.g., GitLab, dashboards, Dataverse)
• Ability to train and support technicians effectively
• Willingness to travel frequently to expansion sites
• Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities
