Job purpose:

To manages the regional surge capacity for disaster responses and support the improvement of disaster management capacity in Feed Villages across Mbeya.

Duties:

  • Engage in the development of partnership strategic guidances and resources on capacity building and organisational development for HEA and Disaster Management.
  • Support the development of annual capacity building plans of National Offices based on the results of the Disaster Management scorecard analysis, and in alignment with the FV strategies
  • Coordinate deployment/capacity building engagement mechanism in the region in collaboration with Global Humanitarian Surge Specialist and GCDM Capacity Building Technical Director
  • Facilitate access to staff care and other appropriate support during and after deployments/engagements for RDMT and ER SMEs from the region.
  • Manage deployment services and ability of the RDMT through management of competency, availability, access and utilization of the RDMT members.
  • Manage surge capacity prepositioning and deployment for declared emergency responses in the region and beyond through management of competency, availability, access and utilization of RDMT, NDMT and Emergency Roster Subject Matter Expert (SME)’s if needed

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor degree qualifications and/or professional qualification in Social Science, International Development or relevant field
  • Experience and proficient skills in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,)
  •  2 Years experience in a busy organization
