Job Posting: Purchasing Officer

Location: Zanzibar, Tanzania

Position: Purchasing Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute procurement activities for restaurant.
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase high-quality products and materials required for restaurant operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Procurement Officer, preferably in the hospitality or food industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently as well as part of a team.
