Responsibilities
Setting and measuring KPIs and taking corrective action as necessary to ensure KPIs are achieved.
Emphasis on monitoring and evaluation of performance to track monthly performance against monthly goals
Emphasis on eProd performance tracking and training subordinates
To develop and implement a sustainable and cost- effective Integrated farmer training program.
To develop and refine on a continuous basis, cost effective farmer support services in pyrethrum growing regions.
To identify and implement key performance measures and tracking mechanisms to gauge performance against these measures.
To design and implement annual work plans structured to define key goals and activities undertaken to achieve those goals.
Ensure full adherence to good agricultural practice on all project sites.
Maintain accurate records of all key indicators of project inputs and outputs.
Ensure that all sites are properly maintained and ensure that appropriate resources are allocated in order to ensure strict adherence to best practice.
Arrange for flower samples to be sent to the laboratory for testing and update records with test results as necessary.
To identification and implement program modifications and improvements.
To prepare program budgets and take all measures necessary to adhere to budgets.
Perform administrative tasks as required.
Submit detailed and accurate research and operational reports on a timely basis.
Maintain a culture of continuous improvement in all activities.
Liaise with industry experts to take advantage of this expertise to improve program outcomes.
To oversee the implementation of best agronomic and bio-security practices in pyrethrum growing areas in line with knowledge base developed from ongoing R & D programs.
To ensure that extension staff receive adequate training to enable them to implement best practice IPM and agronomy support programs.
To supervise and guide extension staff in their planning and operational activities.
To attend local government – stakeholder meetings on agriculture and liaise with agricultural officers in all pyrethrum growing regions
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in agricultural project management or extension services.
Demonstrated experience in setting and measuring KPIs, with a track record of achieving goals.
Strong understanding of agricultural best practices and experience in implementing farmer training programs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and supervise subordinates effectively.
Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
Proficiency in data management and reporting, with experience in maintaining accurate records and submitting timely reports.
Knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) and biosecurity practices preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to travel to project sites and attend stakeholder meetings as required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
