Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Credit Strategy Manager with a strong background in bank/microfinance operations to lead our credit and collections team. The ideal candidate will responsible for assessing creditworthiness, managing collection activities, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. This role requires excellent leadership skills, strategic decision-making, execution ability and the ability to optimize credit risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Scoring & Risk Assessment
- Develop and implement credit scoring models to assess customer creditworthiness.
- Analyze financial statements, payment histories, and risk factors to make data-driven lending decisions.
- Monitor credit risk trends and recommend policy adjustments.
Credit Collections & Recovery
- Oversee the collections team to ensure efficient recovery of outstanding deb
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce non-performing loans (NPLs).
- Establish collection policies, negotiate repayment plans, and handle escalations.
Bank Operations & Compliance
Ensure credit and collections processes align with banking regulations and internal policies.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including risk, finance, and legal teams, streamline operations.
Maintain compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and audit guidelines. Team
Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit analysts and collections office
- Set performance targets and monitor team productivity.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centric decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in credit scoring, collections, and banking operations.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, lending regulations, and collections best practices.
- Experience in leading teams(managing at least 5 members) and driving performance improvements.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, data interpretation, and credit scoring methodology
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English speaking
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of credit scoring software and debt recovery tools.
- Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks in banking.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
