Job Purpose
The Cost Control Specialist is responsible for planning, studying, and collecting data to determine the costs of business activities—including raw material purchases, inventory production processes, supplies, machinery, shipping, and plant operations. The role involves managing budgets, analyzing cost variances, monitoring expenditures, and preparing accurate cost reports to support effective financial and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Analysis & Financial Control
-
Conduct ongoing constraint analysis, support target costing projects, perform margin analysis, and track costs back to underlying activities.

Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine their effect on costs.

Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures and analyze cost audits to prepare detailed reports.

Formulate estimates for new and proposed product costs.

Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting product/service pricing and profitability.
2. Inventory & Operational Support

Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.

Reconcile finished goods inventories.

Review purchase requisitions for cost accuracy and alignment.

Assist in month-end financial closure processes.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements
Experience & Education
-
Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years required (4 years preferred).
-
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a relevant discipline.

Professional Certificates: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an added advantage.
-
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English.
