Position: SHERQ Coordinator (1 post)
Unitrans Tanzania Limited is a logistics and transportation company operating in Tanzania. It is part of Unitrans Africa, a larger organization providing end-to-end supply chain solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa for over a century.
Location: Kilombero
Employment type: Fixed Term Contract
Job purpose:
Responsible for implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards across all operations.
Minimum requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or Risk and Assurance.
- SAMTRAC certificate / ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation course.
- Certificates in HIRA, Accident Prevention, and Investigation.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 5 of 2003, NEM Act 2004, Worker’s
- Compensation Act, and relevant standards.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Valid driving license (Class A, A1, and D).
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including report writing.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to work abnormal hours and holidays when required.
Responsibilities:
- Support field operations with safety requirements.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, Safety, Health Regulations, and Standards.
- Develop procedures and plans to reduce employee risk.
- Conduct SHERQ trainings.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections.
- Perform accident or incident investigations.
- Participate in internal and external audits, logging, and tracking audit findings.
- Perform weekly and monthly reports.
- Log and control revision status of all procedures and maintain a document control register and the
- SHERQ electronic database.
- Implement, drive, and manage the SHERQ culture at the workplace.
