Position: Assistant Pollination Manager
Reports to: Pollination Manager
Position Type: Staff Position
Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role:

To coordinate and supervise pollination and emasculation activities to ensure high seed quality, genetic purity, and production efficiency, while effectively managing teams, crop activities, resources, reporting, and compliance with company protocols.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and supervise pollination and emasculation operations to ensure production targets, seed quality, genetic purity, and established standards are achieved.
2. Lead, supervise, coach, and develop pollination teams, ensuring effective workforce allocation, productivity, discipline, and adherence to required work standards.
3. Monitor crop performance and pollination activities, identify operational deviations or quality concerns, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
4. Maintain accurate production records, data, and reports, ensuring timely reporting, traceability, and effective communication with relevant internal and international stakeholders.
5. Coordinate the availability and effective use of labour, materials, and other operational resources required to support uninterrupted pollination and greenhouse operations.
6. Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety, environmental, quality, and farm protocols, while supporting operational improvements and the effective resolution and escalation of production or infrastructure issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or a related field.
2. Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in pollination operations, greenhouse production, seed production, or agricultural production management.
3. Strong knowledge of seed production, pollination and emasculation techniques, varietal purity requirements, and crop production practices.
4. Proven ability to lead and supervise teams, allocate labour effectively, maintain operational discipline, and deliver production activities against established targets.
5. Strong production administration, data management, reporting, and record-keeping skills, with high attention to detail, accuracy, and traceability.
6. Good communication and coordination skills with proficiency in English and Swahili languages, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
7. Strong commitment to hygiene, safety, farm protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement within a controlled seed production environment.
8. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in working with multiple related software with proficiency in data collection, analysis, and record keeping using agricultural software.
