Arusha Co-operative Union Limited is the members of Co-operative Union formed by primary of co-operative societies united together to form the secondary society known as Co-operative Union. Co-operative Union’s are usually formed at the District and Regional Level as required by the Co-operative societies Act No. 6 2013 and rules of 2015.The aim is to promote the economic interest and arrange for production of coffee and other agricultural produce industries and all matters connected with crop and other development activities of the affiliated Primary Societies and their individual members in the Primary Societies.
To educate the members, Board and staff through seminars, Workshops, Study tours, Agriculture show, symposium and courses to the staff within the Union and Primary Societies.
In order to fulfil the obligation of the members, the Union has to meet the among the following objects.
To promote the economic interest and arrange for production of coffee and other agricultural produce industries and all matters connected with crop and other development activities of the affiliated Primary Societies and their individual members in the Primary Societies.
To educate the members, Board and staff through seminars, Workshops, Study tours, Agriculture show, symposium and courses to the staff within the Union and Primary Societies.
To act as buying and selling agents for all operations connected with the marketing of members societies produce.
To raise or negotiate loans from financial institutions or other similar sources in further race of all the objects contained therein subject to the requirements of the Co-operative Societies No. 6 of 2013. Co-operative rules of 2015 and the by –law of the Co-operative Union Limited.
To advise direct and supervise whenever necessary to the members societies in preparation of their annual estimates of Income and expenditure as required and thereafter to submit the approved estimates by the societies annual General meeting to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies for approval.
