Job Overview

Jhpiego, an international non-profit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Administrator. Based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the Administrator will provide day-to-day administrative, logistics, procurement, and fleet management support to regional field teams, ensuring seamless operational execution of project activities in compliance with organizational and donor standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative & Field Operations: Provide administrative support to regional project staff, coordinate travel itineraries, handle approvals, organize meetings, and manage official correspondence.

  • Logistics & Event Coordination: Plan and execute operational support for field workshops, outreach programs, supervision visits, and training sessions.

  • Procurement & Stores Management: Prepare purchase requisitions, track procurement requests with finance/procurement units, oversee project assets/stores, and conduct regular inventory audits.

  • Fleet & Transport Coordination: Supervise vehicle scheduling, fuel tracking, logbook verification, and regular vehicle maintenance schedules.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain physical and electronic records on SharePoint, compile routine administrative summaries, and ensure compliance with Jhpiego policies and US Government regulations.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field (Degree preferred).

  • Work Experience: 4–5 years of relevant experience managing administrative, logistics, or operational functions within donor-funded programs.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and electronic filing/management systems (experience with eLMIS or similar inventory platforms is an advantage).

  • Languages: Fluency in both English and Kiswahili.

Core Competencies
  • Familiarity with US Government rules and administrative compliance frameworks.

  • Practical knowledge of fleet management, asset tracking, and inventory control protocols.

  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel periodically within assigned project regions.
