In an effort to stream line operations, Serene Microfinance Ltd seeks to recruit qualified Accountant Officer to work in Finance Department and One Loan Officer to work in Credit Department and   ensuring smooth operation   of the Microfinance. 

Job Position:  Accountant Officer

Job Description:

• Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data as well as preparing reports
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Documents all financial transactions
• Handling statutory deductions and tax payments while observing the stipulated deadline dates of submission. This includes the following taxes, Income tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding tax.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Performs audit work in accordance with the approved audit manual and professional standards and carries out the procedures outlined in the internal audit plan
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
  
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Performing any other duties he/she may be assigned by supervisor

Required Skills and Experiences for Accountant Officer 

Accounting, Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting  writing Skills, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Reporting Research Results, Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management, General Mathematical Skills.

General Qualifications for Accountant Officer

Holders of Bachelor Degree in Accounting with at least three years’ experience in a similar position in Microfinance ,  banking industry or any other financial sector.

Job Position: Loan Officer 

Loan Officer Duties and responsibilities

• Maintain an active knowledge base of all of the Microfinance’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applican
• To build and maintain a substantial and high-quality loan portfolio
• To conduct members/customers recruitment and screening
• To orient clients to the particular loan products and services.
• To analyze applicants’ financial status, credit and property evaluation and determine feasibility of granting loans and ensuring loan repayments after disbursement
• Make a regular contact with the customers and clients in field.
• Ensure Loan collection is done based on procedures and loan agreement
• Keep tracking of outstanding loans and ensure loan recovery is done based on policies and procedures.
• Update account status and database regularly
• Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable
• Handle customers’ questions or complaints
• To prepare and present loan report timely (Daily, Weekly and Monthly )

Required Skills and Experiences for Loan Officer

Financial analysis to evaluate creditworthiness, a strong grasp of regulatory compliance and proficiency with loan software, communication Skills, and sales Skills to guide clients through complex processes. 

General Qualification for Loan Officer  

• Holder of University Degree or equivalent qualification in Business administration, Finance or any other related field
• A t least two year experience in a similar position.
