THE UNITED AFRICAN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA (UAUT) is a fully accredited private university by the Tanzania Commission for Universities. The University is located in Kigamboni, Dar Es Salaam.

Accountant (1 Position)

Qualifications:

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, CPA(T)/ ACCA or its equivalent with at least 2 years working experience in the Accounting field.

Duties:

Perform various accounting tasks including receiving and paying out cash and cheques.
Maintain full and accurate account records.
Prepare trial balances.
Check the correctness of claims and retirements ensuring they are supported by appropriate authority/evidence.
Custodian of accountable documents.
Prepare monthly trial balances and bank reconciliation statements.
Maintain debtors and creditors.
Prepare financial statements.
Check the accuracy of payment vouchers.
Perform any other duties assigned by the senior.

NB: Holders of foreign awards certificates must have the awards verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) before employment.
