Position: Accountant

Company: Evolve Peoples Solutions

Location: Kilimanjaro Region

Our client is looking for a dynamic, self-driven, proactive Chief Accountant that can manage self and team.

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the organization. They will ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported timeously as well as play an active role in the development and implementation of the company’s overall accounting strategy.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payables and receivables

  1. Reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts.
  2. Creation and management of purchase orders for all AP transactions
  3. Initiating payments on bank platform and follow up for bank approvals.
  4. Creation of sales orders 
  5. Management of debtors and administer the company credit policy
  6. Posting payments and receipts from bank in Acumatica.
  7. Responding to all suppliers and customers queries.

Inventory and fixed assets

  1. Inventory reconciliation and understand and clear all variances.
  2. Maintain fixed asset register 
  3. Conduct Verification of assets and tagging of additions

Tax and compliance

  1. Ensure all taxes are filed and paid on time
  2. Ensure tax compliance from AP such as WHT deductions.
  3. Monthly reconciliation of EFD reports with sales.
  4. Ensure that the company is compliant with all laws and regulations.
  5. Review compliance for items that require action and lease with HR and legal consultant for action.
  6. Track meetings and correspondences with government agencies.

Human Resource and Payroll  

  1. Ensure that Employees have Contracts, offer letters and Probation letters (when required).
  2. Process and pay payroll taxes NSSF, WCF timeously
  3. Update human resource system with joiners and leavers as well as with required details
  4. Maintain employee files that are updated.
  5. Compile payroll iputs from sites-overtime, commissions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields
  • Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience
  • Possesses Accounting certifications i.e. CPA, ACCA
  • Above average computer skills with experience operating ERP Software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of leading a team
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be located in Kilimanjaro region or willing to relocate+
