JOB SUMMARY
Hakadosh Company Limited on behalf of our client, is seeking of skilled and experienced DG Set Mechanic to maintain, service, troubleshoot, and repair diesel generator sets to ensure reliable power supply for estate operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, engine repairs, and monitoring generator performance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance of diesel generator sets in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults involving diesel engines, cooling systems, lubrication systems, fuel injection systems, and exhaust systems.
- Inspect and maintain generator components, including radiators, filters, belts, hoses, pumps, and engine mounts.
- Troubleshoot generator starting problems, overheating, abnormal noise, oil pressure issues, and excessive fuel consumption.
- Conduct regular inspections and monitor generator performance to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Assist in identifying and resolving generator electrical and control system faults in coordination with electricians.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service schedules, job cards, and spare parts usage reports.
- Coordinate with the workshop team to ensure timely repairs, availability of spare parts, and proper maintenance planning.
- Conduct load testing and assist with generator installation, commissioning, and routine operational checks where required.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, environmental standards, and proper handling of fuel, lubricants, and used engine oil.
- Respond promptly to generator breakdowns to minimize operational interruptions.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Trade Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Engine Mechanics, or a related technical field.
- At least 3–5 years of practical experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel generator sets.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and generator maintenance procedures.
- Experience in troubleshooting generator faults and performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and equipment specifications.
- Good record-keeping, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns in a field-based environment.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices is essential.
