JOB SUMMARY

Hakadosh Company Limited on behalf of their Client is seeking for skilled and experienced Pump Mechanic (Diesel & Electric) to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered and electrically driven pumps used in irrigation systems, borewells, water supply networks, and estate operations. The successful candidate will ensure reliable pump performance, minimize equipment downtime, and maintain efficient water delivery across the estate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel-powered and electric water pumps.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults involving pump impellers, bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, and casings.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engine components, including fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
• Assist in diagnosing pump motor and electrical faults in coordination with qualified electrical personnel.
• Inspect and maintain pump installations, pipelines, valves, strainers, and associated fittings.
• Monitor pump performance, operating pressure, flow rates, vibration, and temperature to identify potential faults.
• Conduct pump alignment, bearing replacement, seal replacement, and other routine mechanical repairs.
• Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and replacement of pumps and associated equipment.
• Respond promptly to pump breakdowns to minimize interruptions to irrigation and water supply operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service schedules, job cards, and spare parts usage reports.
• Coordinate with the irrigation team and workshop personnel to ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure proper handling of lubricants, fuels, and maintenance materials in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Trade Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or a related technical field.
• At least 3–5 years of practical experience in pump maintenance, diesel engine repair, or industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, electric pump systems, and associated mechanical components.
• Experience in pump installation, troubleshooting, servicing, and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, equipment specifications, and maintenance instructions.
• Basic knowledge of pump motors, electrical controls, and fault identification.
• Strong problem-solving, record-keeping, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in field environments and respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
