Job Purpose

The Lab Technician provides critical laboratory support across the production value chain by conducting quality checks and chemical/microbiological analyses on raw materials, in-process brews, and packaged products. This role ensures all output conforms strictly to AB InBev’s global quality standards.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Quality Analysis & Laboratory Testing:

  • Prepare raw material, in-process, and finished product samples for routine and specialized testing.

  • Execute in-process physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses across brewing and packaging operations.

  • Conduct analysis on inter-laboratory ring test samples to ensure bench calibration accuracy.

• Equipment Maintenance & Calibration:

  • Safely operate, clean, maintain, and calibrate specialized laboratory testing equipment according to scheduled maintenance plans.

  • Troubleshoot equipment anomalies and manage non-conformance closures in a timely manner.

• Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis:

  • Record, evaluate, and report analytical results promptly to production teams to support real-time process control.

  • Apply root cause analysis (RCA) techniques to solve quality deviations and operational issues.

• EHS, 5S & Auditing Standards:

  • Conduct Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits across laboratory, brewing, and packaging areas.

  • Maintain high standards of 5S, housekeeping, laboratory hygiene, and occupational safety.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

Educational Background:

• Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Science, Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Applied Chemistry, or a related field.

Experience & Knowledge:

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a Laboratory, Brewing, Beverage, or FMCG Packaging environment.

• 6 to 12 months of structured on-the-job laboratory training.

• Solid understanding of process control principles within a brewing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) process environment.

Core Competencies:

• Strong analytical, assertive, and proactive problem-solving skills.

• High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated leadership qualities and capability to drive 5S/GMP standards.
