Secondary Education for Girls Advancement (SEGA) is a non-profit organization based in the Mkundi area, Morogoro Municipality. SEGA is registered in Tanzania mainland with registration No. 00NG/R2/0000232. The organization’s mission is to educate and equip bright Tanzanian girls with academic, leadership, and business skills to unlock their talents and achieve their full potential, with a particular focus on vulnerable girls. SEGA’s programs include:
- SEGA Girls’ Secondary School
- Post Form Four Scholarship Program
- Msichana wa Kisasa Community Outreach Program
Vacancies at SEGA Girls’ Secondary School:
The SEGA Girls’ Secondary School, located in the Mkundi area, Morogoro Municipality, provides quality, holistic education to 280 students from Form I to Form IV, with more than 50% of the students receiving full scholarships. The school’s mission is to offer quality education for girls, promoting academic excellence, strong values, healthy self-esteem, and independent thinking skills, with an emphasis on leadership, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and environmental care.
POSITION: CARETAKER – 1 POST
This position is mainly responsible for the care and well-being of students with physical disabilities including spina-bifida. These students are in wheelchairs. The Caretaker is expected to be committed to caring for these students with love and compassion. Currently, the school has four (4) students with physical disabilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assist students in the morning before class and after class.
- Bath students before and after class.
- Assist with toileting (helping with bowel movements).
- Perform catheterization as required.
- Help students with washing their clothes.
- Assist students in making their beds daily.
- Assist children in dressing and putting on diapers.
- Support students during self-study time eg. reading story books
- Offer health and mental counseling.
- Guide students through their daily exercises
- Assist with any other need that may arise and that may be assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A diploma in Nursing or Clinical Officer.
- Professional experience (at least 3 years), including experience working with people with disabilities.
- Understanding of the needs of people with disabilities.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Female aged between 30 and 40 years.
