POSITION SUMMARY
ALPHA NAMATA COMPANY LIMITED is looking for a detail-oriented and self-starter Systems and Data Analyst to optimize the company procedures, improve utilization of systems, applications and contribute to planning, preparing reports, and implementing best practices.
The Systems and Data Analyst should have an in-depth knowledge of IT systems and solutions, an analytical mind, and be an exceptional problem solver that facilitate identification, analysis, and solution to technical issues, effective communication, and collaboration with team members. Furthermore, understand all available reporting tools, create reports that enable improved operation visibility and performance.
Typical duties and responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, maintain, and upgrade internal and external systems.
- Troubleshoot application, hardware, endpoint, and database issues.
- Configure systems and provide end-user support.
- Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks.
- Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets.
- Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for datasets.
- Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
- Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
- Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
- Test systems for overall quality assurance and validate results.
- Proactively analyze data to answer key questions for stakeholders, with an eye on what drives business performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources.
- Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting an appropriate combination of methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or computer information systems, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with information technologies and mining data as a data analyst.
- Experience with agribusiness is an added advantage.
Technical Competencies
- High level of understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with database maintenance and administration.
- Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems.
- Strong computer hardware, software, and analytical skills.
- Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages, including Excel, SPSS, and SAS.
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili Language (Verbal and Written).
- Strong programming experience with frameworks, including XML, JavaScript, and ETL.
- Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions.
